Construction Legal Issues
Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins' experience in the area
of construction is vast and varied. We have represented owners,
contractors, subcontractors, governmental entities and utility
companies in a variety of construction contract disputes including,
but not limited to, disputes involving inadequate performance,
project delay, detrimental reliance and promissory estoppel.

providing legal opinions of construction contracts, lien and

The corporate/business practice of Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins, L.L.P. covers a broad range of commercial and business transactions.
The practice is as varied as the clients and industries we
serve, which include financial and lending institutions, radio
stations, publishers, health care providers, human resource
agencies, commercial distributors, general contractors, real
estate developers, federal and state funded private companies,
churches, non-profit corporations and small businesses.
Much of the practice involves contractual transactions between
business entities, financing or debt restructuring, regulatory
compliance, governmental licensing, minority certification
compliance, business formation and acquisition, equipment
acquisition and lease matters. For smaller business entities
without in-house counsel, we serve as general counsel and
provide advice on contracts, employment and other legal issues.

Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins, L.L.P provides our clients with a wide

in all phases of trademark practice, copyrights and trade
secrets. In addition, the Firm advises companies in areas
ancillary to intellectual property including, but not limited
to, licensing, due diligence, and the Internet.
Labor/Employment Litigation
Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins’ labor and employment law
practice includes experience in civil litigation and administrative
proceedings involving allegations of employment discrimination,
wrongful discharge, employee benefits, civil rights violations,
unfair labor and employment practices, employee discipline,
employee drug and alcohol abuse, sexual harassment, workforce
reductions, and other occupational issues. The Firm also assists
clients in developing policies and strategies to implement
federal, state and local statutes and regulations in the employment
relations area. In addition, the Firm’s attorneys counsel
clients on fair labor standards and practices, occupational
safety and health issues, age discrimination, health regulations,
employee retirement policies and equal compensation issues.

on employment manual revisions designed to ensure the proper
handling of diversity issues within the workplace.
Litigation
Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins, L.L.P has a cadre of experienced litigators
who provide efficient and effective handling of disputes from
the period before a lawsuit is filed through to mediation,
arbitration, or trial. The Firm’s litigation practice
cuts across the full range of civil legal problems common
to banking and other commercial entities, including debtor’s
and creditor’s rights, franchising and insurance, antitrust
and trade regulation, patent and trademark infringement, business
torts, commercial and government contracts, officer’s
and director’s liability, accounting malpractice, and
civil appeals. The Firm also has expertise in the prosecution
and defense of personal injury claims, employment, environmental
protection and civil rights law, including class actions.
The experience which H. Ron White and Kevin B. Wiggins have
as litigators, mediators and former state court judges enhance
the Firm’s ability to analyze the merits of claims and
to offer sound advice regarding the most appropriate way to
resolve disputes. In every instance, Alternative Dispute Resolution
(ADR) options are considered if it advances the client’s
objective.
Product Liability Defense
For more than seven years Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins, L.L.P has
defended corporate clients in cases which involve allegations
of product defects. These cases have included claims for breach
of express and implied warranties, as well as claims for negligence,
violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, and strict
products liability (design, marketing and manufacturing defect
claims). As a result of our extensive experience, we have
garnered substantial knowledge of the defenses which can be
raised to challenge these claims, including using the economic
loss rule to challenge tort claims, and the limitations and
disclaimer defenses to challenge the warranty claims made
by a plaintiff. Alternatively, Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins, L.L.P has the
skill and deftness to negotiate favorable resolutions in mediation
or try cases to a jury verdict.
Public Law
We counsel clients in all aspects of government-related
issues and disputes. We assist clients in litigation, arbitration
and negotiations involving governmental and quasi-governmental
entities. W&W’s success in public law is tied to
our attorneys’ experience at representing clients on
both sides of public law issues, combining legal counsel,
effective advocacy and knowledge of the political process
to negotiate or adjudicate complex issues and disputes involving
public entities and political subdivisions.
Real Estate Transactions
Adorno Yoss White & Wiggins’ attorneys represent lenders,
landlords, tenants, developers, corporations, governmental
agencies, pension funds, trusts, investors, purchasers, sellers,
brokers, homeowner associations, non-profit community development
corporations and construction contractors in a wide variety
of real estate transactional and litigation matters. W&W
attorneys have transactional experience in property sales
and acquisitions, financing, development, construction, leasing,
management, zoning, land use and loan work-out matters.
Real estate litigation cases handled by the Firm include
real estate contract disputes, condemnation lawsuits, forcible
