Michael Caine is Of Counsel in the Firm’s Dallas office. He practices primarily in the areas of estate planning, trust & estates, tax, corporate, and real estate. In addition to being licensed as an attorney, Mr. Caine has been licensed as a certified public accountant for more than fifteen years. Prior to his association with the firm, Mr. Caine was the principal attorney at his own boutique law firm located in Detroit, Michigan where he provided legal services to clients related to a variety of matters including, but not limited to, probate and trust administration, estate planning, tax, probate and trust litigation, real estate and corporate transactions. Mr. Caine was also responsible for providing corporate counsel services to a professional guardianship agency. In addition, as both a licensed attorney and certified public accountant, Mr. Caine has worked on investigative projections, including fraud examinations, forensic audits, and compliance review engagements.


  • Served as Underwriter’s Counsel team member on City of Dallas, Texas Waterworks and Sewer System Revenue Refunding Bonds, Series 2013, General Obligation Refunding and Improvement Bonds, Series 2013A and General Obligation Refunding Bonds, Taxable Series 2013B

  • Responsible for advising clients on a wide variety of business and commercial transactions, such as professional service agreements, commercial lease agreements, employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, and noncompete agreements.  Responsible for drafting and negotiating various commercial transction documents including shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements, computer and software licensing agreements, stock purchase agreements, and financing documents.

  • Involved in the administration of more than one hundred estates

  • Responsible for annual preparation and filing of approximately 50 fiduciary accountings with various probate courts.

  • Served as fiduciary for an estate having liquid assets in excess of two million dollars

  • Represented various fiduciaries as attorney for estates totaling in excess of ten million dollars

  • Successfully argued motion for summary judgment related to a determination of heirs

  • Successfully negotiated settlement in trust case involving life estate in home

  • Successfully negotiated settlement in deceased estate case against bank for wrongfully disbursing proceeds in decedent’s account

  • Successfully negotiated settlement in deceased estate case against sibling related to change of beneficiary designation
